The aster is a cold-resistant crop. It prefers sunny areas with fertile, well-drained, non-acidic soils. The application of fresh manure is strictly prohibited.
Asters should not be grown constantly in the same spot; a break of 4-5 years is necessary to prevent soil-borne diseases. Direct sowing of seeds into the open ground is possible in early spring.
